Revolution in e-health: Bimedoc and PULSALYS join forces to secure prescriptions in the case of kidney failure.

Bimedoc, a software publisher specializing in the digitalization of pharmaceutical care pathways, and PULSALYS, a Deep Tech incubator and accelerator in Lyon and Saint-Étienne, are joining forces to take a further step in the fight against medication-related adverse events. They are focusing on the development and industrialization of two innovative predictive models for medical decision support in the context of kidney failure. This is a promising advancement for improved treatment safety and better medication management for patients.

Bimedoc, a software publisher specializing in the digitalization of pharmaceutical care pathways, and PULSALYS, a Deep Tech incubator and accelerator in Lyon and Saint-Étienne, have signed a new partnership agreement aimed at improving prescription safety in the context of kidney failure.

By partnering with Professor Michel Tod’s research team, known for its DDI-Predictor© predictive tool for detecting drug interactions, Bimedoc and PULSALYS aim to develop two innovative predictive models. These models will then be directly integrated into Bimedoc’s platform dedicated to supporting the delivery of pharmaceutical care activities, further enhancing patient medication management.

The two predictive models currently under development will have specific applications. The first model will adjust medication dosage based on the patient’s renal status, while the second model will predict the occurrence of adverse effects, thus providing a solid scientific basis for proposing dosage adjustments.

PULSALYS, a major player in Deep Tech in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, is dedicated to transforming scientific discoveries into economic opportunities. By collaborating with Bimedoc and research laboratories, they are pooling their expertise to develop innovative solutions in the healthcare sector. Professor Michel Tod, a member of the “Evaluation and Modeling of Therapeutic Effects” team at the Laboratory of Biometry and Evolutionary Biology, will be responsible for the academic research. Bimedoc, for its part, will contribute its technological expertise to the development and industrialization of these medical decision support solutions, aiming to make them widely accessible.

The advantages of this three-way collaboration are numerous. By integrating the innovative predictive models developed, Bimedoc strengthens its medical decision support system, thus offering its users advanced tools for improved patient care. Furthermore, these new predictive models could address major public health challenges, such as reducing the risks of drug-induced illness.

The first research results from this collaboration are expected by the end of the year. This step marks a new chapter in the development of innovative technologies to combat drug-related problems.
