Dedalus - Press Release - Digital Pathology

Press Release Ouest Pathologie chooses Dedalus’ Diamic-DeepUnity software suite and takes a major step towards digital pathology Artigues-près-Bordeaux, September 22, 2025 - The Ouest Pathologie group has selected the unique Diamic-DeepUnity software suite developed by Dedalus France, marking a first on the French market and a decisive step in the adoption of digital pathology. A first in France: from administration to imaging in a single integrated system Founded 7 years ago, with 6 sites in Brittany and one in Normandy, and boasting 36 partner pathologists, the Ouest Pathologie group is today taking a key step by digitizing its operations with Dedalus’ Diamic-DeepUnity software suite. Already using Diamic, a laboratory management solution specializing in anatomical pathology, the group is adopting a comprehensive solution that integrates administrative, technical, diagnostic, and financial records, as well as digital imaging (visualization and storage of ultra-high-definition images), all within a single environment. This seamless integration eliminates any manual data entry or transfer and guarantees a smooth, fully digital workflow. With this choice, Ouest Pathologie becomes the first group in France to deploy the complete Diamic-DeepUnity solution, a unique 100% Dedalus suite on the market, based on the latest web technologies. This transition to digital pathology marks a major turning point: it enables not only the digitization of slides and their use in ultra-high definition, but also the deployment of a single image management system (IMS), ensuring a continuous and fully digital workflow. This transformation paves the way for the use of artificial intelligence tools to improve diagnosis, fosters cooperation between specialists through tele-expertise (sharing expertise and remote second readings), and contributes to enhancing the attractiveness and quality of work life. Finally, thanks to IVD Web Reporting, the new module integrated into Diamic, pathologists have a state-of-the-art interface, interoperable with scanners and adapted to the growing needs of digital pathology. A Strategic and Collaborative Partnership The result of a successful collaboration between Ouest Pathologie and the R&D teams of Dedalus France and Europe, this project illustrates the shared commitment to innovation and co-creation, offering a unique software solution with an ergonomic, seamless, and fully digital work environment. It is divided into several key stages: digitization of slides via high-resolution scanners, secure data storage in DeepUnity, and then integration with Diamic for a complete view of the patient journey and billing, with the prospect of deploying artificial intelligence to support diagnosis. The deployment offers numerous advantages: simplified access to digitized images, easier case sharing between specialists, harmonization of medical practices via a single tool, as well as centralized hosting and common settings, thus reducing integration and installation costs. Sebastian Costa, President of Ouest Pathologie, states: “Ouest Pathologie has chosen to invest in the digitalization of its operations. Our objective is twofold: to enhance the group’s attractiveness to new pathologists and to improve the working conditions and efficiency of our physicians. The DeepUnity Digital Pathology solution, developed by Dedalus, allows us to view and share scanned slides, facilitates communication between physicians, and develops telepathology within the group. This is a major step forward in strengthening collaboration, rapid access to information, and the quality of diagnoses. Dedalus, a long-standing partner and key player in information systems for pathology analysis, is now entering the field of information management systems, and we are delighted to take this step with them.” Faced with the increasing workload of pathologists, this solution will provide us with an efficient, secure, and scalable digital workflow. With this agreement, we affirm our commitment to positioning our group at the forefront of the future of digital pathology, serving our physicians and patients. “This first French implementation illustrates Dedalus’s ability to support its clients in innovation through a comprehensive, integrated, and interoperable software suite. With Diamic-DeepUnity, we are ushering in a new era for digital pathology and preparing for the continuous evolution of our solutions to meet the professional needs of pathologists,” explains Guillem Pelissier, Managing Director of Dedalus France. The 7-year partnership includes an initial installation in December 2025 in Lorient, with ongoing Diamic upgrades scheduled until 2028.
