From the moment they arrive, the teams consult the ZINC dashboard. It clearly displays alerts triggered by predefined criteria (lab results, unusual prescriptions, arrival of a high-risk patient, etc.). These criteria are drawn from both recommendations from learned societies such as the SF2H (French Society for Hospital Hygiene) and practices specific to the hospital. Thanks to ZINC, it is possible to quickly identify patient zero, trace their hospitalizations, and monitor their interactions with other patients. “In an epidemic, this can represent thousands of patients. Manually, this would be impossible,” explains Arnaud Florentin. In just ten months of using ZINC, 4,944 alerts have been issued, with 4,091 processed, compared to only 426 alerts entered manually over the previous twenty-six months (Source: South Lorraine Hospitals).
