Mipih and SIB working hand in hand in the fight against cybercrime
During the SantExpo trade show, held from May 23 to 25 in Paris, Mipih and SIB presented their joint service offering to support healthcare facilities in the face of cyberattacks. SIH Solutions was present at the launch.
A context of growing threats
MIpih and SIB have found common ground and are making their expertise available to healthcare facilities. In a challenging environment, the two organizations dedicated to digital health are focusing their efforts on cyber threats. To address the needs of stakeholders who are increasingly exposed to risks, cooperation on these issues has become essential. In 2022, criminal acts against healthcare facilities increased by 43%, according to the French National Cybersecurity Agency (ANSSI). Disruption of services, rescheduled operations, complete service shutdowns, dissemination or loss of sensitive patient data… IT departments are under pressure given the increasingly broad and complex challenges. ANSSI and the Digital Health Agency, through various programs, have committed resources to support healthcare facilities, assist them with their IT security, and better prepare them for crisis situations. These programs include: Digital Hospital (HOP’EN), Ségur Digital Use in Healthcare Facilities (SUN-ES), the Cybersecurity Plan, etc. Furthermore, the Ministry of the Interior aims for 100% of the highest-priority healthcare facilities to have completed new crisis preparedness exercises by May 2023. It is in this context that the Mipih and SIB are joining forces to offer a public and sovereign solution to healthcare stakeholders.
A scalable and customizable offering
The first component of this offering involves conducting cybersecurity crisis exercises within healthcare facilities. This is one of the priority actions of the Ministry of Health and Prevention’s cybersecurity strengthening plan. The goal? To raise awareness and prepare all hospital stakeholders (management, departments, IT, etc.) for cybersecurity risks in their specific contexts. Furthermore, Mostafa Lassik, CEO of Mipih, emphasizes this point: the aim for both organizations is to contribute to the resilience of healthcare facilities. “During an attack, facilities are supported by Orange Cyberdefense. This support is periodic. It must be provided over the long term in order to assess the subsequent consequences of the attack on the facility’s daily operations.” This is why the proposed offering is intended to be progressively expanded. A range of complementary services will aim to provide consulting, business continuity, business recovery, compliance for facilities, organizational and technical audits, SOC (Security Operations Center), and managed EDR (Emergency Disaster Recovery). Crisis management kits at three levels or customized to individual needs will be offered. To develop all these services, a team of 30 experts from both entities has been assembled. And the collaboration is not expected to stop there. The two organizations are jointly pursuing other opportunities. Olivier Morice-Morand, CEO of SIB, speaks of “a natural complementarity” in this regard. They recently submitted a joint response to a call for tenders from the Occitanie Regional Health Agency (ARS). And there should be no shortage of projects in the future.
