Health data: the private cloud, an agile and secure IT solution

The recent cyberattacks on hospitals in Bourg-en-Bresse and Brest demonstrate once again that it is essential for healthcare facilities to choose a hosting solution that meets their needs while effectively protecting their data. Both secure and agile, the private cloud stands out by offering a solution that adapts to the constraints of most healthcare facilities.

The private cloud: an agile and scalable solution

Already used in many sectors, the private cloud is a service entirely dedicated to a single organization or company. Unlike the public cloud, the dedicated IT infrastructure is not shared with another organization. For Jean-Charles Ferrand, Managing Director in charge of Development at PARTITIO, “private goes hand in hand with healthcare.” The private cloud combines the best of both worlds to offer an isolated and dedicated solution that is both more secure and more scalable. He adds that this solution meets the needs of all types of healthcare facilities because the private cloud is fully customizable: “Cloud storage capacity and the services offered evolve according to each facility’s needs. We offer several modules, from application hosting to business continuity planning, which ensures the infrastructure is resilient in the event of a problem or attack, as well as managed services and document sharing solutions.”

Healthcare data security: a sovereign cloud

Opting for a certified private cloud also allows healthcare facilities to ensure their data is secure. The solutions offered by PARTITIO are managed exclusively by French companies, in compliance with French law. They hold HDS (Health Data Hosting) certification, which is mandatory for hosting health data. This accreditation, issued by the government or a government agency, ensures that health data is stored securely, guaranteeing its confidentiality and protection. ISO 27001 certification also ensures that an information security management system built on this international standard has been implemented.

Support and proximity for a fully customized service

Security and personalization are the two main pillars of the private cloud. To elaborate further, Jean-François Théard, President of PARTITIO and Head of ITS Business Unit at Konica Minolta, explains: “The goal is to boost the institution’s digitalization, but also to be readily available to meet their needs.” Today, for example, it is essential to plan for the next step in the event of a cyberattack. We have therefore designed a disaster recovery kit to guarantee the continuity of key activities and the necessary communication between the departments responsible for crisis management. We also help implement engaging information campaigns on best practices in IT security, which are distributed to staff. Security and adaptability, as well as the quality of support, are therefore among the main criteria not to be overlooked when choosing the right hosting solution, which will facilitate the daily operations of all the teams within the healthcare facility while inspiring confidence in patients and professionals in the sector.
