The Provence Hospitals Group (GHT HOPITAUX DE PROVENCE) optimizes its patient flows with Maincare's M-SESAME solution.
M-SESAME will be deployed across the 13 hospitals of the GHT (Groupement Hospitalier de Territoire - Territorial Hospital Group) by the end of 2025, providing comprehensive visibility into bed availability and improving patient flow throughout the region.
Optimizing Patient Flow Across the 13 Hospitals of the GHT
With 13 hospitals, over 9,300 beds, and a population of 2 million, the GHT Hôpitaux de Provence, whose main site is the Marseille University Hospitals, is one of the largest hospital groups in France.
Since improving patient flow is a strategic priority for the group, the GHT Hôpitaux de Provence has chosen the M-SESAME solution offered by Maincare, a subsidiary of Docaposte and a La Poste Santé & Autonomie (French Postal Service for Healthcare & Autonomy) expert.
Launched in 2023 in partnership with Atout Majeur Concept, its developer, the M-SESAME solution will enable the GHT Hôpitaux de Provence (Provence Hospital Group) to:
-
Have a single patient flow management solution across all facilities;
-
Harmonize practices and operating procedures for patient flow management;
-
Gain better visibility of bed occupancy at each facility and across the entire GHT;
-
Facilitate the efficiency of care services and the work of bed managers;
-
Improve patient triage upon arrival at the emergency department;
-
Meet the expectations of the Regional Health Agency (ARS) regarding bed management in the region.
The solution is also connected to the National Directory of Supply and Resources (ROR) and fully integrated with the Hospital Information System (SIH). Thus, thanks to its regional platform, the GHT (Groupement Hospitalier de Territoire - Territorial Hospital Group) will have a comprehensive overview of available resources across the entire region to facilitate coordination between healthcare facilities, optimize resource utilization, and improve patient care.
3 pilot sites to be deployed in the first half of 2025
Following an initial deployment at the Martigues Hospital Center in early 2025, the solution will be deployed at the two other pilot sites, the Arles Hospital Center and La Timone Hospital – AP-HM (Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Marseille), during the first half of the year. The solution will then be progressively deployed across the 10 other sites by the end of 2025.
To ensure the success of the project, whose organizational component is essential, a collaborative approach was implemented with the GHT (Groupement Hospitalier de Territoire - Territorial Hospital Group): technical and organizational maturity audits were conducted
across all sites to assess their specific needs, and all stakeholders (hospital management, IT departments, medical teams) were involved in the initial scoping workshops and continue to be involved in the steering committees throughout the project.
According to Loriane AYOUB, Director of Partnerships and the GHT Hôpitaux de
Provence, at AP-HM: “The patient flow management project is emblematic of successful project management within a large GHT with 13 participating hospitals: its high complexity required the structuring
of a multidisciplinary project team representing the various professions and hospitals, in constant contact with the Maincare teams.” This is a highly unifying project, whose long-term ambition is to leverage the GHT’s healthcare networks to improve patient pathways.
For Chloé Lefranc, Director of the Patient Flow Business Unit at Maincare:
“We are very proud of the trust placed in us by the GHT Hôpitaux de Provence in choosing M-SESAME. All the Maincare teams involved are delighted to be working hand in hand with those of Atout Majeur Concept and the GHT to ensure the project’s success. This major deployment will allow us to demonstrate the full potential of the solution and its significant impact on improving patient care across such a large region.”
For Dimitri Duval, CEO of Atout Majeur Concept:
“We are thrilled to support the deployment of M-SESAME for this large-scale project.” The Hôpitaux de Provence Hospital Group (GHT) will be the first hospital group of its size to have a patient flow management solution interfaced with the regional platform. This will give the GHT a comprehensive view of bed availability across its territory, enabling it to optimize the patient journey. This partnership with Maincare, distributor and integrator of our solution,
accelerates the transformation of hospital groups with a central solution for the patient journey and the hospital information system.
